On Saturday, Oct. 7, at 9:34 a.m., patrol officers responded to Kentucky and Pacific Avenues in reference to a man who was stabbed multiple times.
Police found the victim, 30, of Philadelphia, PA, suffering from serious injuries and bleeding profusely from an arm wound.
Officers Troy Grams, Courtney Campbell, and Christopher Campbell immediately rendered aid including the application of a tourniquet. The victim was transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with serious but non-fatal injuries.
Surveillance Center personnel were able to locate and track two suspects who fled onto the Boardwalk but not before throwing the knife used in the attack on the roof of a nearby building. Officers Scott Sendrick and Maria Borsani located the suspects Anthonia Taylor and Berneisha Crosby. They were taken into custody without incident.
Officers learned that during the assault, the suspects stole numerous personal belongings from the victim. Taylor and Crosby also had active warrants for their arrest.
Taylor, a 58-year-old male from Philadelphia, PA, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, robbery, and conspiracy.
Berneisha Crosby, a 31-year-old female from Philadelphia, PA, was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, robbery, and conspiracy.
Taylor and Crosby were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
